I bought this to try with my teen kids. I struggled for years with acne and did not realize until my 40s that is was fungal. I bought this because my kids started breaking out and I thought maybe it was fungal too. It works great as long as they use it daily (which you are supposed to, but teens.....sigh). If you think you have fungal acne, you should definitely try these products. Everything has a nice smell or no real smell (which is great because my kids don't like strong scents).
As far as efficacy, this has been amazing, but I have just one complaint. I had patches of seb derm on my face, especially around my nose, that was flaring up and I couldn't figure out why it was happening. I already was a fan of the SSS blog, so I hoped this would help with my problem and it's been awesome and very effective at getting rid of the irritation. The ONLY problem is that I wish there had been a warning or reminder listed somewhere about how quickly benzoyl peroxide can bleach fabric. I usually sleep on my side with my arm under my face, and I woke up with large patches of my sweatshirt that were slightly bleached just from it touching my face that night. My pillowcase from our new (unfortunately expensive) sheet set bleached badly as well after just a day or two, more than I remember my skin doing to cloth when I was using benzoyl peroxide as just a spot treatment years ago as a teen. If that fact was listed somewhere that was clearly visible on the both the regimen and treatment pages to remind people or educate new buyers, I'm sure it would help future people from encountering this problem. I'll continue to support Malezia and use the products, just now while using a different pillowcase.
Learned about simple skincare science back in 2017 when I had a flare of adult acne. Fast forward to coming off birth control which gave me a ton of acne along my chin. I tried a bunch of different products over a year and nothing helped. I went back to the simple skincare science website and discovered f.c. came out with a line. Smashed the purchase button and have had cleaner skin this past week than I have had all year.
I’ve had tiny bumps on my forehead for the longest time and nothing worked for me get rid of them. Lesson learned - not all benzoyl peroxide is the same! This regimen has almost totally cleared my skin in 3 weeks. I had a terrible break after covid about 6 months ago, and nothing I did worked. I did it all: I went to the dermatologist, I used actives from expensive skincare lines, I tried all the DIY hacks. I came across this and was so skeptical because it felt TOO gentle? Only apply once a day? And only 2%? But it worked, and I’m so grateful. I had bumps all over my cheeks and it got to a point where I thought they might be like that forever. I finally feel like my skin barrier is on its way to healing for the first time ever (despite trying seaweed products, etc.). Overall, this is easy to follow, a great price, great results, no side effects… definitely repurchasing!
I started to notice pimples on my forehead that I couldn’t get rid of, & so I did some research & wondered if I struggled with FA. malazia really helped clear up my skin on my forehead, & has prevented breakouts of more FA. I will still get pimples, but my skin has definitely improved!! It also is super gentle, & I have extremely sensitive skin!!! Would definitely recommend if you struggle with FA! I've suffered from hormonal acne all throughout my life and I've tried just about everything: Korean skincare, diet change, prescriptions, supplements, etc, but nothing really worked and those stubborn nodular acne always cropped back up whenever they pleased with no rhyme or reason.
It got really bad in Dec 2023 when I randomly started having terrible inflammation along with some whiteheads—which I normally don't get with my kind of acne—and I lost complete confidence in myself. I didn't want to go out, and if I did, it was only with a mask on, which only exacerbated my condition. Around that time I was on a balanced diet and my skincare routine hadn't changed, but something internally must've happened that I couldn't see or understand. I tried to have patience and give it time to heal, but when spring rolled around and it was still the same, I started freaking out and did a huge skincare rehaul.
I saw the inflammation go down with the new skincare routine, but I was still getting those pesky nodular acne and they even started developing on my cheeks when before it was solely isolated on my chin area. By August of 2024, I decided I needed to change some things up again.
Come August 2024, as a birthday gift, I bought Malezia's skincare products—everything from the cleansers to the moisturizer to the BP gel. I was honestly skeptical at first because I left American skincare behind in my high school years because their products burned my skin. I haven't looked back from my Korean skincare since, but with how saturated the market is nowadays with Korean beauty products, everything felt like a scam these days.
Two months later into Malezia, my inflammation has calmed and I only get about one nodular acne every week! I'm realistic and know I can't get rid of this hormonal acne unless I address the internal issue, but no doctor or dietician or esthetician has been able to help me so I can only help myself at this point and this is more promising that I ever thought! I can live with one volcano a week so long as I never go back to December ever again! Thank you, Malezia!
On another note, I am concerned about the PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) I always get after a breakout and it doesn't seem like Malezia has something on their line to address dark spots yet, so I've been using a vitamin c serum recently because I noticed these spots weren't fading as fast as they normally do from my previous skincare routine.
My loyal skincare suddenly was not working for me when I had a weird breakout come up. I think it came from using Jojaba oil for oil cleansing. I never went to a derm, but suspected fungal acne. I did a deep dive and landed on Malezia. I saw my break out calm down after just a few days, now after a month it’s nearly clear! I do experience dryness from the treatment and have to alternate every other day. I have incorporated a gentle exfoliant as well. Excited to keep going and hopefully have my skin completely back to normal!
