Its star ingredient is urea, a molecule found in the skin's natural moisturizing factor (NMF) that plays an integral role in improving skin barrier function.
Urea is a multi-functional ingredient with the ability to hydrate and mildly exfoliate. It's so effective as a hydrator, in fact, that it outperforms vaseline in some studies. (1)

I'm a bit sensitive when it comes to having "stuff" on my skin and body generally. I used to hate the oily, waxy, gooey, slick feeling from every other moisturizer I've tried that would stay on my skin with uncomfortable odors. This one is awesome, though. It makes my skin feel actively better. I look forward to using it every day.
My only complaint is that it doesn't come in a bigger size!

Really great product. Very lightweight but also very hydrating to my very dry skin. Has not triggered any additional fungal acne. I feel very safe using this product. Never stop making it!!!
I recently discovered that my moisturizer was causing my forehead breakouts after previously thinking it was fungal acne-safe. After some frantic web searching, I found this brand and have been so happy with the results. I started off with the cleansing balm and moisturizer, then decided to also try out the acne treatment gel. My skin purged a bit with the cleansing balm, which I expected and was prepared for. The moisturizer is super hydrating and doesn't leave any sticky feeling on my face. The acne treatment gel goes on just like a moisturizer and sinks in super fast as well. I'm super happy with my results and my skin is clearer than it has been in years! I still have some scarring but my texture is all gone!

I love this moisturizer and use it as the base for my skincare. I make my own concoction with anti-aging ingredients included. I have extremely sensitive skin and am prone to seborrheic dermatitis, perioral dermatitis, rosacea, malassezia folliculitis, acne...you name it, I've had it. I found the creator of this brand through his website simple skincare science and found the ingredients he recommended (mainly urea) super calming, clearing, and healing for my skin. No other moisturizer out there works like this! The only thing I would like to see improved (or created through a different product) is the thin texture. It is not quite heavy or moisturizing enough for my skin and I have to keep reapplying it until it feels heavier and more moisturized. Also, I wish the packaging was a jar because it's hard to get everything out of the tube even with the key. Apart from that, amazing stuff!
I tried this moisturizer after a particularly bad fungal acne flare-up. Within DAYS my skin was back to normal again! Not only that, but my skin barrier felt much more hydrated and just generally healthier. I prefer to layer it with CeraVe for some extra moisture on my damaged/irritated skin, but it can definitely be used alone for oilier skin types. Highly recommend!!
As I'm using the Acne traetment gel which can dry your skin a little, this cream is perfect to keep your skin moisturized.
PHENOMENAL. Will never buy another moisturizer again. 10/10 amazing, has healed my skin like no other ! Not greasy, absorbs quickly, lightweight. Smaller pores, better healing.
