Important Note on Our First Batch: this IS NOT the finalized version of Cleansing Balm. This initial batch is prone to separation in freezing conditions, which may occur in transit. This can lead to tube leakage because the old packaging features a pop cap without a seal.
In our commitment to sustainability, we have decided to sell this 'Pilot' batch at 50% off instead of discarding it, resulting in several thousand units of wastage. However, please note that all sales are final and not eligible for refunds due to this known issue.
If you prefer to receive a product with no issues, we recommend waiting until the official Cleansing Balm is released in April, 2024.
We appreciate your understanding as we work diligently to perfect this product for you! __________________________________________________________________________
Every ingredient in this formula had to fight for its life to be included.
From the moment our Cleansing Balm was conceptualized, we wanted to make something that was fungal-acne safe, 100% biodegradable, could completely remove sunscreen and makeup, decongest pores in process, rinse off cleanly with water, be gentle on skin, and function as a stand-alone cleanser if needed.
We managed to do that with only seven ingredients.
INCI: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Water, PPG-2 Myreth-10 Adipate, Salicylic Acid, Quillaja Saponaria Wood Extract, Saponaria Officinalis Leaf/Root Extract
Here are some key highlights:
- Water: essential to all things life.
- Saponaria Extracts: contain saponins, which are natural surfactants used for their cleansing and foaming properties. In addition to their cleansing ability, Soapwort Extracts have soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, which can be beneficial for sensitive or irritated skin. Some preliminary research has also shown they possess mild antimicrobial effects.
- Salicylic Acid: a well-known beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), included in our formulation for its exfoliating capabilities. It targets dead skin cells and unclogs pores, helping refine skin texture and appearance. Its gentle yet effective action promotes clearer and smoother skin, making it a key ingredient for those seeking a revitalized complexion.
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride: enhances skin's softness and hydration while providing a silky, non-greasy feel. Our Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is meticulously sourced and contains no trace amount of C12-24 fatty acids, enhancing its microbial potency against Malassezia, a microorganism linked to acne and fungal acne.
- Glycerin: a natural humectant, known for its ability to attract and lock in moisture. By forming a protective barrier, it helps maintain skin hydration keeping it soft and supple, creating a less irritating cleansing experience.
- PPG-2 Myreth-10 Adipate: a specialized emollient that works synergistically with other surfactants to create a soothing, and milder cleansing experience. Enhances product spreadability and texture, providing a gentle and luxurious application.
So I bought the tester because my face was itchy, red, and reacting to everything and lemme tell you - ONE use of this balm and all that itchiness, irritation etc went away. I love that it makes my face feel clean, hydrated, and soothed. As noted in the product description, this tester does separate and because of that, it does leave a slight clear coating on my skin - you can't see it at all and it actually feels GREAT, but it does make me break out a tiny bit. That said, I would 100000% buy this finalized product when it launches. I love this brand and will support them forever!!!
I didn't need a cleansing balm since my face does very well with micellar water, but I wanted something for the occasional facial massage that would be easier to remove than squalane or MCT oil. This was exactly what I was hoping for! It removed a lot of dirt and plugs from my pores and rinsed off clean, leaving my skin feeling hydrated but with nothing leftover. I followed the other reviewers advise and shook the tube vigorously before opening so I didn't have issues due to the separation.
Malezia has yet to let me down and I will definitely be purchasing the finalized version whether I need more or not because F.C. and his blog SAVED MY SKIN. I believe in this brand 100% and will continue to support!
This is a great everyday cleanser. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and it’s made a difference, I had a few small bumps and this has cleared it up. My skin overall looks really good. I also love the way it feels/the texture.
Additionally, I didn’t mind the top cap being a little loose (and messy), because once you use it a few times the issue dissipates.
I believe the product is helping my skin but unfortunately the tub I have is leaky due to being squished in shipping. If possible I would change shipping to using boxes rather than bubble mailers.
Really enjoy using this cleansing balm to remove makeup and impurities of the day. Only problem is that it leaks from the cap.
So grateful I found this skin care line. Love the packaging, love the products, love how it makes my skin feel. I am so uuuuber sensitive to everything. And I’m so grateful for such a transparent educated skin care line, that truly cares ❤️❤️❤️
You would never know that this first batch of the
cleansing balm is not the final product. I bought all three of the new face wash products when they came out and I am in love love love.
Not to give away my secrets, but I’m having an affair with this cleansing balm. (First cleansing balm I’ve ever used too, mind you.) To say I look forward to using it every other night is an understatement. I’ve cheated on the new MCT oil some nights with this one instead because I just love it so much.
Using all three of these new bad boys-the MCT oil one night, followed by the hyaluronic face wash/than the next night using the cleansing balm and, again, following it up with the hyaluronic face wash-has made my pores the most crystal clear they have ever been since I first came into the world out of my mom’s vagina.
Thank you, as always, f.c. for saving my skin. One day I will be brave enough to post my before/after pics but for now just take my money Malezia because I’m buying my second round of the cleansing products and the millionth round of the benzyl peroxide gel/urea moisturizer.
I have been a long time user of Malezia’s moisturizer and was very excited to try their cleansers. This product did not disappoint! Although the pilot product (leaking/separation issues) did make a mess during shipping, after shaking the tube vigorously and wiping down the tube, I have barely thought about it being defective in any way. At first, my sensitive, rosacea-prone dry skin was a bit offended by the salicylic acid with mild stinging, but after a few uses that subsided. Now, my skin is glowing a bit, has a more even tone, and is more moisturized.
I use this as recommended (alternating with MCT oil every other night) along with all other Malezia products, excluding the benzoyl peroxide spot treatment. I look forward to the day I use this product, as some sebum plugs fall right out as I’m rubbing the cleanser into my face! I have found that I often have it sitting on my face for longer than the recommended one minute as I get ready to get into the shower, but have not had irritation besides the first few days of using it. People have commented that my skin looks good recently, and I’d like to credit this product!
For someone that obsessively reads reviews I absolutely never write them but in light of these incredible products and company I have too!
To start with my skin: I call it problematic. Somewhere in my mid 20s I started dealing with acne, nothing HORRIBLE but enough to be self conscious. I tried all the things with yo-yoing results. My skin progressively got oiler as the years went on. I've tried all the latest and greatest from Mary kay to la roche, to korean skin care to skin care costing what feels like buckets of money. Several years ago I started retinol and wow did my skin do a 360 in clarity! After that I jumped on the trend of tretinoin.... me thinking I was a boss jumped to 1% and since then I've had the most troubles. I tried to get off it in the past and had horrible breakouts. In the middle of all the was kids ( yay hormones) and the MOST sensitive skin of my life. I could look at a bottle and read the ingredients and break out. I was dismayed that nothing worked, exhausted by the hundreds of dollars wasted on full bottles or partially emptied ones to never love a product or really have it work. I had experimented a bit in the past with using zinc creams/Dandruff wash on my face but it never stuck. After coming across FC post and reading the lines that a sign of FA was sensitivity to the air I breathe.... I started the experiment first with zinc shampoo then ketoconzole while I waited for my new items. I ordered them all! Even the half price salicylic balm. I ditched the tretinoin and jumped feet first. After all I've used I smuggly scoffed at the benzoyl peroxide ( how can that otc cream stand a chance against my prescription tretinoin which fyi was a cream and making my acne worse or rather never completely getting it gone). So after 2 weeks of product use here's the break down:
Salicylic cleansing balm: give that puppy a good shake and you'll never know its messed up! This is a dream product it's creamy and moisturizing, not what you would expect for the active in it. I love it!
Cleansing oil: this is a no muss no fuss oil. It gets off all my makeup but you HAVE to follow up with the wash after because water won't rinse this off like some balms. No break out from it...so it's my new go too till I leave the earth.
Hyaluronic acid wash: it's slippery and lovey and hydrating. Don't you oily girls freak out. It's a beautiful gentle but very effective wash. I adore how my face feels after.
Benzoyl peroxide: she is small but she is mighty! This accomplished more then my tretinoin EVER did for my texture and acne. Please follow the guidelines they give and PLEASE baby your skin. In my arrogance thinking I could handle harder things I over used this and the salicylic acid the same night and my face became quite irritated. I listen to my face and still two weeks in am not using it every day. Take your time introducing it and listen to your face... its a journey not a race.
Urea moisturizer: I'm still figuring this one out. It absorbs nicely and wears well under makeup just make sure to let it set. It takes my skin some time to adjust to new moisturizers. And since the Benzoyl peroxide can cause dryness this has enough moisture to handle that but I am still a bit oily a few hours in. I'm not letting it out of my sight any time soon so I'm hopeful as my skin continues to adjust to the new products the oils will get even better ( or rather less)
So where are we now? Now I rock no makeup some days at work! What!? I have the smoothest forehead probably since I was a baby and I LOVE my regimen.... a factor I missed all these years. Washing my face is my favorite part of the day. I look forward to waking up and seeing what else is cleared up. I still have spots I'm working on. My jaw line has been particularly stubborn. But I'm obsessed with these products and how they have worked. Just do it. Buy them all and fall in love! I really committed and have even been in the process of swapping my make up over too so I can stop fighting against myself. The company is amazing and cruelty free, they even responded to me when I sent a list of questions. Please don't go anywhere Malezia and keep making these affordable great products. You're changing lives!
This cleansing balm is yet another outstanding product from Malezia. The separation issue is minimal, not a problem for me at all. I’ve been following the website's Regiment Guide for almost two months now and my skin is so happy! No tightness, no dryness. Just soft, smooth and hydrated. Thank you F.C. and Company!
