Malezia 5% Urea Moisturizer

*Long Review Alert* I've never dealt with acne of any kind, but randomly at the beginning of 2024, I got a small acne outbreak on my forehead, and it slowly spread to my entire face. After visiting the derm they told me it was fungal acne and I tried 3-4 different treatments with the Derm and although they cleared it temporarily, eventually it always came back. My skin felt so tight and almost burning after using ANYTHING. I knew my barrier was damaged, but nothing was helping and the acne kept getting worse. After I came across this brand in a reddit thread about fungal acne, and reading the ENTIRE 50+ document on the simple skin care science page, (seriously if you haven't read through their research, do it, it's so worth it), I figured, they sound like they actually know what they are talking about, so let's give it a try. I went ahead and bought the whole bundle (HA Cleanser, Urea Moisturizer, and BP treatment). After feeling like everything was irritating my skin, I was nervous to try this and potentially make it worse, but decided to just go all in.

The left photo is my face just before starting the skincare around July 2024. The first week or two, I just started with the cleanser and moisturizer to gauge any reaction, but my skin actually got a little better. Then I added the BP around week 3 and that's really when I saw the most changes (So yes, I think all 3 are necessary!). I followed their regimen guide to the T, stripping everything else out and just trusting the process. The BP treatment was very gentle and my skin didn't experience any adverse reactions. After 1 week of using all 3 products, my face cleared up 80% and after 1 month of using all 3, (right photo, in Aug 2024), my face was clear! Now, 6 months later, my skin has stayed clear and I've not had any issues since. Seriously, the best purchases I've ever made. It is worth all the money -- please don't ever change the formulas! I now use the MCT Oil, HA Cleanser, Moisturizer, BP daily and their new exfoliant 1x a week. [Please make a sunscreen next :) ] . I get compliments on my skin all the time now and it is so glowy and clear now.

Also, Although they are small containers, The moisturizer lasts me ~3 months (I use one a day), HA Cleanser lasted me ~5 Months (also once a day use), and I am still using the same BP cream I bought back in July 2024, and it is now January 2025. So they last a while in my opinion!

My only complaint (And not a complaint enough for me to stop buying the product), is that unfortunately, the caps don't do well under plane pressure. I travel quite a bit, and eventually each of my 3 different bottles (on 3 different flights) have cracked in almost the same area, I'm assuming due to plane pressure? Not a huge deal as I just transfer them to travel jars, but still a bit of a nuisance. Good thing is, when they cracked, nothing spilled out in my bag, so still a good quality seal. Maybe it's just something with what they're made from, but again, not gonna stop me from buying them-- just a heads up in case others experience it too. All in all still a 5/5 product and company and I absolutely will never stop buying.

The product is great, I noticed an almost immediate shift in my skin. I love that I can trust the science behind the product. My only issue is that there is a lot of air in the lotion packaging so it looks like there’s more product than there is in reality. Otherwise would recommend!

Incredibly grateful to have stumbled upon this brand and the story. After struggling with autoimmune issues, and never having acne before, I realized I had fungal acne due to prominent gut issues. As an avid skincare lover, this left me having to eliminate all of my medical grade skincare and get back to basics so I could once and for all get off the antibiotic hamster wheel to treat my fungal acne. I had destroyed my skin barrier and kept using products that only exacerbated my folliculitis. Within days of using the core regimen, I was less inflamed, the bumps started to dissipate and I wasn’t embarrassed to leave the house! If I wear makeup I use the MCT oil first, then follow the core regimen. I recently got the balm to use as a mask once or twice a week and I’m happy to say that today I am FA free! I’m sure I’ll have flare ups, but now know how to treat them. I’m so thankful for this founder’s story and guidance, as well as the reasoning behind ingredient triggers for FA. Without finding this brand I would have continued to have been misdiagnosed, or given oral anti fungal medication, which was not a cure for FA and instead a bandaid, that ultimately made my FA come back and each time with a vengeance. Thank you, Malezia, for pioneering the best FA routine to truly treat FA and heal the skin barrier!

I been using this moisturizer for 2 weeks now and I love it so much doesn’t break me out I have oily acne prone skin my skin breakouts if the product is too occlusive and too hydrating but this moisturizer is just so perfect it’s hydrating but not leave a greasy feeling on skin would recommend for oily skin and acne prone

doesnt clog your pores and hydrates great! i love it and will definitely buy again. i have very sensitive dry combination skin

I have been following simpleskinscarescience since 2018, when I had an insane folliculitis infection (but at the time thought it was acne). I now religiously only use the malezia urea moisturizer and recommend it to everyone I see. My skin is highly sensitive and this product is super delicate and highly moisturizing. 10/10

As someone who has very oily skin and has struggled with different types of acne my entire life, I'm afraid of moisturizers. They usually will make things worse, or I can't feel any difference.
This moisturizer changed things for me. I could notice the difference in my skin hydration, at the same time, it is helping my skin in the acne clearing process. I love it.

I have been waiting to be able to give this review. In early September, my face started acting crazy. My sister said it looks like exczema, you should go to the dermatologist (see photo 1). It was really bad. I got diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis and was given Ketaconazole and Hydrocortisone and sent on my way. I kid you not, I am pretty sure it made my condition way worse and completely ruined my skin barrier. I called wanting to switch to to something else but they told me to stay on it for a few more weeks. I did not. I took to the internet to competely understand what I was dealing with and like many of you, found FC and his website full of information. So I started my little skin journey. I tried everything from Vanicream face wash to Zinc bars to specialized eczema and seb derm products and they would sting and turn me red and did nothing to help. I finally decided to give Malezia a go, since it was a product BY FC. You HAVE GOT TO read and follow the regimen. HAVE TO. If you want any results. So I did just that. And let me point out, before I even started, I contacted customer service about using Squalane Oil with their products and they informed me that I should purchase and use the BP as well. I was confused, because my seb derm does not come in the form of pimples. Which when using the word "fungal acne" confused me. Mine was just dry, itchy, patchy, red red skin. Not pimples. Let me tell you, it works. I wash my face every morning for no more than 10 seconds with the Malezia face wash, I pat dry with face towels purchased from Amazon. I then moisturize with Malezia, let it dry down, and moisturize again. My face just needs it and responds well. I do this morning and evening, but in the evening I add the BP over the moisturizer and leave it on. Here I am about 5 weeks later and my face is almost back to normal. My skin barrier is coming back and getting softer again, no more hard crispy skin. I can not LOVE this company enough. I apolgize for ranting. I have provided photos, hopefully you can tell "worse" to "best".

I had trouble with my skin for years and since finding this product and the blog, my skin has never been better! I ran out of my Malezia 5% Urea Moisturizer, and was trying to hold off on buying more until after Christmas and my skin was not happy! I decided I couldn’t wait and ordered another tube. Within a few days my skin is already doing better and looking great again! Can not recommend this stuff enough if you have fungal acne

Best moisturiser I have ever used. I can’t use anything on my skin without it breaking out in eczema or pimples. This product saved my life. Never using another again.

Literally could not live without it.
Love the packaging, easy to use nice feel and lasts a long time.
If you try it you won’t ever have to try a new moisturiser again.
